I have been listening to this song a lot in the past week or so.
Trina Hamlin is an awesome vocalist and harmonica player from Minnesota who has the gritty blues sound most often found in folks from the South. Her voice is pure and powerful and her harmonica skills impressive.

Charley Jordan is a classic pre-war country/early blues musician with an impressive musical catalog.
He is best known as Peetie Wheatstraw's guitarist, but in my opinion his solo work is most impressive.

'Keep It Clean" is his 'trademark' song, and with good reason.
Give it a listen if you'd like and if you enjoy it, please leave a comment so I can get a feel for what to post more of/less of in the future.

This song has a little more of a traditional country feel than most of the songs I have posted, but I think it is a little fun nonetheless.

Hey all, this is a song my dad just wrote, and I recorded it at home. Real Steve Earle/Gillian/Murder Ballad kind of thing. Let me know what you think!

The Ditty Bops!

I &hearts The Ditty Bops. The Ditty Bops are Amanda and Abby, two wonderfully talented and adorable women who have a music style all their own. They borrow from jazz, bluegrass, folk, and cabaret just to mention a few but they sound like no one I have ever heard.

The song I'd like to share with you is one of my favorite songs this year.
It's one of their more bluegrass styled tracks, and the mandolin and sweet vocals are beautiful, precious, and fun

I also suggest you check out their website.

music: the mendoza line- throw it in the fire
posted by: ms_radical in ondowntheroad

This song reminds me of old Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash duets.
Tim and Shannon from The Mendoza Line pull it off near perfectly.
This track is off of their new album "Full of Light and Full of Fire".

I thought it might be fitting for this community, so I'm posting for your listening enjoyment.

Something tasty

Thought some of you might want to check out the website of a friend of mine, Don Michael Sampson. He's a great guy with some great songs. And for you newly converted Townes fans, Don was good friends with him, so give Don a listen (out of camaraderie, if nothing else). Oh, and if you check out the credits on Neil Young's latest release, Prairie Wind, you'll find a number of the folks who played on Neil's album also played on Don's last album.

I highly recommend Don's Old Wood Bridge.

Anyway, give it a taste:
